I promise that I do have plans for this blog. In fact, I have a whole bunch of topics saved as drafts for future posts. But tonight it's late and I'm tired, so I am going to just give a quickie.
Today was technically my first day of the challenge, although I want to just do it for July, which meant today was a bit of a cheat day. But don't get me wrong, I did still have a good day!
I traveled to Manhattan, KS today, where I went to college, to see old friends. I knew it would be a challenge with sugar because I was eating out both meals. But I did manage to get something healthy and low-cal for lunch and a pretty fresh-type meal at dinner.
I had one downfall during the whole trip - A chocolate smoothie at the coffee shop with an old friend. I chose that shop because at one time they sold Gelato, and (if it's made in store) it doesn't fully go again my rules. Well apparently gelato is no more and thus I picked the smoothie. I know it had to have a fair amount of sugar, but I also knew that I had a very good day and I could treat myself.
I also had honey on my toast for breakfast, something I do every day, and a small bit of trailmix. The trailmix has sugar listed, but it is the last ingredient among all real foods.
Overall, I think I had a good day. My body felt pretty good after the healthy lunch and if I can keep doing things like that, I will be on a better path to a happier me.
